The Akatsuki is a fictional organization from the Naruto series created by Masashi Kishimoto. It consists of powerful rogue ninjas who serve as major antagonists throughout the series. Power rankings within the Akatsuki can vary depending on various factors, such as combat abilities, strategic skills, and overall impact on the story. Please note that power levels in the Naruto universe can be subjective and may vary depending on the circumstances and matchups. However, based on their overall abilities and contributions, here is a rough power ranking of some prominent members of the Akatsuki:
10 Zetsu
09 Konan
08 Hidan
Hidan is an immortal member of the Akatsuki with the ability to link his body with his opponents and inflict damage on them through self-inflicted wounds. He is also skilled in using a scythe as his weapon.
Hidan possesses a unique ability that grants him near-immortality, making him unable to die from most causes except for malnutrition. This allows him to survive fatal injuries and even dismemberment, as long as his head remains connected to his body. However, in order to control his body, his head still needs to be attached, requiring Kakuzu's assistance to reattach it. This immortality gives Hidan a significant advantage in battles, as he can continue fighting even after sustaining severe injuries.
07 Deidara
Deidara is an explosive specialist who uses clay as his primary weapon. He can create intricate explosive sculptures and has the ability to fly.
Deidara was a highly skilled missing-nin from Iwagakure, holding the rank of S-rank. He was initially a member of the Explosion Corps in his village. However, after defecting from Iwagakure, he was compelled to join Akatsuki, becoming the organization's youngest member. Deidara was first partnered with Sasori until Sasori's demise, and later with Tobi until his own death. He possessed a unique ability to create explosive clay sculptures, which he utilized in battles. Despite his explosive nature and disagreements with his partners, Deidara proved to be a formidable force within Akatsuki.
06 Kakuzu
Kakuzu is an immortal member of the Akatsuki with the ability to use multiple hearts to extend his lifespan. He is a skilled tactician and possesses various elemental ninjutsu
Kakuzu was a highly formidable ninja who achieved membership in the prestigious S-rank organization, Akatsuki. Known for his immense power, he had a tendency to lose control and ended up killing most of his partners, with the exception of one who possessed immortality. His remarkable abilities led his village to select him for the task of assassinating Hashirama Senju, although he ultimately failed but survived the encounter. Kakuzu's strength was evident in his encounter with Team Asuma, where he would have likely emerged victorious if not for the intervention of Team Yamato.
05 Sasori
Sasori is a master puppeteer and possesses a unique ability to convert humans into puppets. His arsenal of puppets and poison-based attacks make him a dangerous opponent.
Sasori, known as Sasori of the Red Sand, was a highly
skilled shinobi from the Puppet Brigade in Sunagakure. He was recognized as an
S-rank missing-nin and became a member of Akatsuki. Initially, he was partnered
with Orochimaru, another member of Akatsuki, and later with Deidara. Sasori's
expertise lay in puppetry, using puppets as his main form of combat. His red
sand puppetry techniques and mastery over poison earned him his notable
reputation as Sasori of the Red Sand.
04 Kisame Hoshigaki
Kisame is a physically powerful member of the Akatsuki known for his enormous chakra reserves and his sword, Samehada. He can also transform into a shark-like creature, enhancing his combat abilities
The
"Monster of the Hidden Mist," also known as the Kirigakure no Kaijin,
was a shinobi from the Hoshigaki Clan in Kirigakure. He gained this fearsome
reputation and became an S-rank missing-nin after joining the Seven Ninja
Swordsmen of the Mist. When Itachi Uchiha joined Akatsuki, he was partnered
with the Monster of the Hidden Mist, working together as members of the
organization. Kisame was an incredibly formidable shinobi who gained entry into
both the prestigious Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist and the organization
Akatsuki. He showcased his strength by effortlessly defeating his former
master, a member of the Seven Swordsmen's most powerful generation, even when
the man used Samehada, a powerful weapon, against him. Kisame boasted about his
exceptional skills in capturing targets alive within Akatsuki, which was proven
when he successfully apprehended the jinchūriki Rōshi, who possessed the
Four-Tails, with minimal effort.
03 Itachi Uchiha
Itachi is widely regarded as one of the strongest members of the Akatsuki. He possesses the Sharingan and is a master of genjutsu. Itachi's tactical prowess and intelligence make him a formidable opponent.
Itachi Uchiha was a member of Konohagakure's Uchiha clan and served as an Anbu Captain. However, he turned into an international criminal after killing his entire clan, leaving only his brother Sasuke alive. Itachi then joined the organization Akatsuki, which engaged in criminal activities and often clashed with Konoha and its ninjas. Itachi Uchiha, even among the highly skilled Uchiha clan, was a prodigious genius with unparalleled talent. He possessed abilities that surpassed others of his age, earning him a reputation as one of the most powerful shinobi in Konoha's history. Itachi's skills allowed him to quickly advance through the ranks and become one of the strongest shinobi produced by the village. Remarkably, at the age of just 9 years old, he completed the Forest of Death portion of the Chūnin Exams in a record-breaking time of 5 hours and 37 minutes, competing alone. Itachi Uchiha possessed naturally strong chakra as an Uchiha. He demonstrated advanced chakra control from a young age, using it to enhance his strikes and even break a large boulder. However, his chakra reserves were affected by his terminal illness. Despite this, during the Uchiha Massacre, Itachi was able to use his Mangekyō Sharingan five times without experiencing much exhaustion. However, in the years that followed, using his Mangekyō Sharingan three times in a day would leave him unable to utilize the Sharingan further and require significant rest to recover his strength.
02 Pain
Nagato, also known as Pain, is the leader of the Akatsuki for a significant portion of the series. He possesses the Rinnegan and can control multiple powerful bodies simultaneously, each equipped with unique abilities.
Nagato, the leader of Akatsuki, was highly respected for his immense power. He was considered the strongest member of the organization. Even when he was physically weak and had injured legs, Kabuto Yakushi, who had the ability to resurrect powerful shinobi, ranked Nagato as the second most powerful among them, surpassed only by a strengthened Madara Uchiha. Nagato, being from the Uzumaki clan, had naturally resilient chakra. His chakra reserves were unusually vast, allowing him to use multiple chakra-demanding techniques in a single day. It was believed that his already powerful chakra was further enhanced by his possession of the Rinnegan, as indicated by a bodyguard of the Fifth Hokage. Nagato had excellent control over his chakra and could constantly change its frequency, making it difficult for sensors to pinpoint his location when he controlled the Six Paths of Pain, unless they stabbed themselves with his chakra rods.
01 Obito Uchiha
Obito, also known as Tobi, possesses the Sharingan and later the Rinnegan. He becomes one of the central figures in the series and wields immense power, including the ability to manipulate space and time
Obito was a member of Konohagakure's Uchiha clan. He was thought to have died in the war, but he was actually saved by Madara and trained by him. The war left Obito disillusioned with reality, and he took on the identities of Tobi and Madara Uchiha. He manipulated Akatsuki to further his plans and started the Fourth Shinobi World War. However, near the end of the war, Obito had a change of heart and sacrificed himself to save the world he once wanted to replace, as an act of atonement. Obito learned from Madara how to perform a variety of different types of ninjutsu: he could create barrier ninjutsu, using the Uchiha Flame Formation to protect the Demonic Statue he could sense chakra, allowing him to predict attacks and locate others from great distances, even in different dimensions and he could perform fūinjutsu powerful enough to seal the Ten-Tails
